Air Freight Advisory:
Backlogs Developing in Asia

Air China Cargo

With October behind us and the holidays rapidly approaching, the market for air freight space out of China and much of Asia has become very, very tight. Traffic is already peaking in Hong Kong, forcing shippers to divert freight to other airports in search of space. The affect has been to create rapidly growing backlogs at other export gateways such as Shanghai, Shenzhen and elsewhere.

In some locations, the backlog is already at least one week.

Fortunately, due to our strong alliance with several carriers in Asia, we are still able to secure ample space. Nonetheless, shippers looking to move product during the holidays are advised to allow extra lead time and book early.

To help us expedite your air freight bookings during peak season, please be sure to confirm the following in advance with your supplier:

  • Ready date
  • Pieces
  • Weight
  • Dimensions

In addition, please provide the due date for your shipment, as it will help us route the freight properly.
